Canine Advanced

Welcome to Canine Advanced!

This class is the perfect continuation for those who have taken Puppy Preschool or Canine Basics with us and wish to further their training with their dog.

Not only will we learn new skills, but we will take a more advanced look at some of the skills we already know - including connecting multiple skills together!

In Canine Advanced we will work on increasing the 3 D’s - Distance, Distraction & Duration.

Note: If you have taken previous training elsewhere, please reach out to see if we are a good fit for your continued education!

Is Canine Advanced Right For You?

  • Does your dog know the basics? Things like: Sit, Down, Stay, Drop it, Leave it, Go to mat, some Recall & Leash skills?

  • Are they able to reliably follow the cues for these skills 95% of the time at home, in a distraction free environment?

  • Are they able to reliably follow the cues for these skills 85% of the time somewhere like a backyard or front yard, a familiar place with small distractions?

If the answer to these questions is YES then Canine Advanced should be a good fit for you and your pup!

IMPORTANT NOTE:

  • Canine Advanced IS NOT appropriate for those looking to work on individual behavioural issues. In Canine Advanced we learn foundational skills and other important everyday tools to help our dogs succeed. If you would like to work on specific issues, please reach out for private sessions.

  • Group classes are also NOT appropriate for dogs with reactivity. Reactivity can include: fear, aggression or over-excitement. While we love each and every pup, it becomes difficult for your trainer and the others in class when we are not able to focus as a group. If you are part of a class and your pup is experiencing reactivity, we will happily work with you to find time for private sessions that will better set you and your dog up for success.

  • If you are the ONLY student signed up for a class, we will seek to move you to another start day/time with other students that works for you.
