As a kennel-free environment, we are unable to provide care for dogs who have challenges being around other pups. Please take a look at our People We Love page as Live-In Pet Care may be a more suitable option for overnight care.

That’s because we don’t charge you extra for anything special that your dog may need to thrive!
Whether it’s special food, medication, supplements, brushing, teeth cleaning - That is all included in your pup’s staycation with us!
Not to mention other extras like sniff-walks, enrichment items/activities & treats!

Overnight Boarding Rates

Daily Rate: $100/calendar day

  • Additional dogs $75/calendar day

  • A premium of 20% per day will be added for any overnight care that falls on a stat holiday or long weekend.

  • Payment is due IN FULL upon reservation confirmation!

When staying with us, your furry friend will enjoy 24-7 personal fear-free care! As we only take in 2 dogs at a time, it allows us the opportunity to adjust to your pet’s normal schedule and keep their day as consistent as possible. This helps to alleviate some of the stress of being in a new place and provides a better overall stay for your dog! All playmates your dog may be staying with have been screened through our registration and meet & greet process - just like you - to make sure we keep a safe and happy environment for everyone.

Our temporary family members have full access to our home! If your pup is used to being crated for bedtime we can certainly do so but otherwise they are free to choose the space that is most comfortable for them. Whether they like to nap on the couch, enjoy stretching out on the cool floor or relaxing in a dog bed, all options are available to them.

Activities during their staycation may include: outdoor playtime on long leads, neighbourhood walks and scenic hikes in Salmonberry Park. We also have snuffle mats & balls (made by the local company Wilke Plays!) + other fun items to help provide indoor enrichment as well!

In addition, all pet parents will receive daily updates which will include photos/videos and a summary of their day!
It’s important to us that you feel as comfortable as your canine family members do while in our care.

Please Note: Terra Nova Canines is a Force Free Certified Facility. No prong, shock or choke collars will be used. Please arrive with a fitted harness (front and/or back clip) if possible and a standard, solid leash. No retractable leashes.

FAQ

  • Yes! We are currently accepting new clients! Start by creating your client profile and booking a meet & greet with us - HERE.

  • We located at #8 7140 188 Street in Surrey, BC but are happy to take clients from any of the surrounding areas like White Rock & Langley - Even Vancouver!

  • Here is our policy!

    1. Payment is due IN FULL upon confirmation of your reservation request. All payments are NON-REFUNDABLE.

    2. Cancellation by the Client with 14 or more days notice will allow for the booking cost to be credited to the account for future use.

    3. Failure by the Client to cancel by giving the minimum notice required (14+ days) or any cancellation during recognized holiday periods will result in a 100% cancellation fee of the total booking cost, unless such cancellation is caused by severe weather, death in the family or a medical emergency. In which case a credit will be held on file.

  • Yes, we are fully licensed, bondable and insured.

  • Dogs are required to be vaccinated in order to stay with us.

    All vaccinations must be up to date and proof submitted before your first visit and yearly thereafter:

    ~ Bordetella (Kennel Cough)

    ~ Rabies – Required every 1yr or 3yr depending on the vaccine given

    ~ DHPP – Distemper, Hepatitis, Adenovirus, Parainfluenza, Parvovirus

    If your pet is unable to be vaccinated for any reason, please provide a medical note from your veterinarian.

    Dogs in our care are also required to be up to date on their flea & tick prevention

  • We do not require dog to be spayed or neutered in order to stay with us. However, we do not accept female dogs in heat.

  • Absolutely! We provide one-on-one personal care for your pets and are able to work with most dogs and their needs.

    At this time, we are not set up to take aggressive or reactive dogs. Please check back in the future as we do hope to expand and make this possible.

  • Yes! All clients are updated daily on their pets with pictures and a summary of how their day went.

  • Yes please! Staying in a new place can be stressful enough on a dog so it’s best to keep as many things the same as possible. Switching to a new food suddenly can also affect their digestive system causing them to be sick - which is neither fun for them, or us.

  • We have everything that they will need for their stay here - unless you wish them to be crated at night as part of their usual routine. You may bring a blanket from home though for bed time that we can place down for your dog wherever they feel most comfortable.
