‘Down’

Step 1: With a treat, use it as a lure to direct your pup's nose down towards the ground.

Step 2: Move your hand in a quick motion, close to their chest, just between their front paws.

Step 3: When their belly touches the ground, 'mark' and treat. Do this a few times.

Step 4: Next, complete Step 3 without the treat in your hand. Lure your pup down with your hand motion, 'mark' and treat. Repeat until consistent.

Step 5: Finally, you can add the verbal cue 'down'. As your pup's belly touches the ground, say 'down', then 'marl' and treat!
