New Addition To The Team!
It’s FINALLY the moment you all have been waiting for …
Please welcome Adam Beck to the Terra Nova Canines family!!
As many of you know from our conversations, I have thought about bringing on additional help since the moment I opened my doors. I never enjoyed having to turn away people who I knew were struggling to find care due to their dogs quirks. And it was so hard having to tell my regular clients that I was full and couldn’t accommodate their pups. But there had never been anyone I met that I could trust to provide the same level of care and compassion that I would.
Somehow after 2+ years in business, the stars finally aligned and I was lucky enough to meet Adam, the owner of Zenpaws! Adam is a dedicated pet professional like myself and his passion for the health and happiness of the animals he cares for rivals only my own. But don’t just take my word for it … Hear what Adam has to say himself!
Hello! My name's Adam and I love to fill my life with animals. I'm honoured and excited to be part of the Terra Nova team!
My professional background is in emergency services, animal rehabilitation, and detection dog handling, so needless to say your furry friends will be happy and safe with me! My mission is to speak for animals, and to increase the quality of their lives to the best of my ability.
When it comes to choosing someone to watch over your beloved companion, experience, confidence and reliability are important factors to consider. Rest assured that I will meet these requirements and more, while treating your dog with the utmost care and respect. I solely use R+ training methods, and am Fear Free certified. I am also certified in Canine First Aid, and experienced in providing injectable and oral medications.
Experience wise, I've had many animals come through my life, including puppies, palliative senior dogs, as well as dogs with special needs. I'm experienced in working with dogs with visual impairments, paralysis, pancreatitis, and chronic pain. In addition to owning four dogs, I've also fostered numerous others (many who were reactive), and worked to ease their anxieties and triggers as I helped find them their forever homes as part of a Vancouver animal rescue I volunteered with. I've also volunteered at various animal shelters, including a sanctuary in Thailand which was home to over 500 rescued dogs (among many other animals). Part of my duties included providing hands on assistance with sick and injured dogs in the clinic, as well as supporting the vaccination programs.
I have been previously employed as a Canine Scent Detection Specialist at a local hospital, where I trained and worked with working-line canines to sniff out diseases in medical environments. I have also worked as an Animal Rehab Assistant, where I provided massage, hydrotherapy, and land based rehabilitation exercises to injured and senior animals. I currently volunteer weekly with the SPCA.
I'm in the process of obtaining my Canine Massage Certification, and will be happy to provide post-surgical, senior maintenance, and preventative massage to your furry friends as an extra service with the approval of your veterinarian.
Just like us, our animal companions can benefit from massage in numerous ways:
- Alleviation of pain
- Preservation of mobility
- Enhancing quality of life
- Reduction in anxiety, depression, and stress
- Addressing tight and sore muscles
- Loosening stiff joints and increasing range of motion
- Speeding up post-surgical recovery
- Early detection of physical ailments
- Aiding in prevention of future injury
- Optimizing sports performance
- Increasing energy and fitness levels
- Improvement of circulation
- Assisting lymphatic system drainage
- General relaxation and wellness

Rate Changes
As mentioned previously, our rates will be going up as of July 1, 2024.
Please see below for all the details!!
Poll Results
A poll was sent out in our April newsletter asking for your thoughts and opinions on how to structure our new rates. Overwhelmingly, you let me know that you prefer having the flexible arrival and departure times a daily rate can afford over the stricter, time sensitive comings and goings of a nightly rate, with an additional cost if you needed us to show up early or depart late.
I’ve taken that info into consideration as I made these changes.
New Rates
Basic Dog Care: $125/day
Advanced Dog Care: $140/day
Additional Dogs: $50/day per dog
Additional Cats: $10/day per 2 cats
Additional Birds, Reptiles, Fish and Small Mammals: $5/day
Things To Note
Holiday premiums will stay the same.
Those who have a grandfathered in rate, that will stay the same.
All current bookings will NOT be affected by this rate change.
You may book before July 1, 2024 at our current rate and your bookings will not be affected.
As of July 1 dates for January 2025 to July 2025 will be open for booking as well. So if you plan to travel the first part of 2025, make sure to secure your dates!
