‘Stand’

Step 1: With a treat in your hand, use it as a lure to direct your pup's nose up and towards you. This can be done from a 'sit' or 'down' position. If often helps to take a step back so they will stand up while following you.

Step 2: When they are fully standing, 'mark' and treat.

Step 3: Do this a few times and once reliable, remove the treat, just use the hand motion, 'mark' and treat

Step 4: Once you are confident that your pup is able to follow your hand signal, start adding your verbal cue 'stand' just as they are fully on all four paws. Then 'mark' and treat!
